For the Spring Summer 2014 collection, Marc Stone searched for the essence of fossils. Rather than remains of a prehistoric organism, they are shown as the leading subject of a journey through form, color and shades.
The identity of this collection has been defined by the materials, as the revealing structure of the missing object: the transparency, which uncovers the layers beneath; the textures, as an engraved image of a natural evolution; and ultimately the prints, result of the collaboration with Julia Tabakhova, reflecting the modern approach of technology to nature. Julia’s artwork is the product of two synchronized dimensions coming out as one: reality and illusion. The fossils acquire sharp geometrical forms, combining structured lines with rough background images.
